The Creta Elena complex lies to the east of the city of Chania, a few meters from the “Dikastiria Square” (or Freedom Square).
In the square stand towering palm trees that surround the statue of Eleftherios Venizelos. Due to the court houses in the area of “Dikastiria” the large square recognizes a vast development with modern cafes, snack bars and restaurants.
Within walking distance from the complex, there is the Municipal Market of Chania. It is a large building 4000t.m. which is the center of the city of Chania.
From 1980 onwards, the Public Market was announced as a heritage monument, as from the it’s construction in 1911 it has been the city’s hallmark along with the Venetian lighthouse.
